Miguel Ernesto Vélez, MD grew up in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. Dr. Vèlez graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a degree in Biology and obtained his medical degree from Ponce School of Medicine. Dr. Vélez subsequently completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in Manhattan followed by a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston.

Dr. Vèlez clinical interests include Musculoskeletal Medicine, Interventional Spine, Regenerative Medicine as well as International and Global Medicine. His hobbies include gardening, exploring new areas of the city, planning my next trip.

What do you love about practicing medicine?
I really appreciate the significant impact that physicians can have in their patients quality of life and overall function. It is what drove me to the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
What is the most important factor in a provider-patient relationship and why?
Trust, it’s paramount for an effective patient-doctor relationship.

What’s your favorite thing about Hudson Medical Group?
The camaraderie at Hudson is incredible. Everybody has been very welcoming and made me feel at home right away.
