Recovery Without Surgery

Chronic Pain. Immobility. Insomnia.

Regenerative treatments offer a simpler road to recovery, so that you can move forward and leave your injuries behind.

What is Regenerative Medicine?

Regenerative medicine taps into the body’s natural ability to self-heal. When injured or invaded by disease, our bodies instinctively begin to heal and defend. Regenerative medicine harnesses these self-healing powers to restore function in damaged tissues and organs.

These reparative procedures transcend the limitations of the body’s structure by extracting healing cells from either blood (for platelet-rich plasma treatment) or bone marrow (for stem cell treatment). These cells are then processed, concentrated, and injected directly into the injured site on the body to boost the healing process.

Regenerative Offerings

The Hudson regenerative practice currently offers Cellular Therapies and Tissue Engineering Therapies.

Cellular Therapies:

  • Platelet-Rich Plasma– Extracted from a patient’s own blood sample, this minimally-invasive injection contains platelets and growth factors that facilitate quicker healing.
  • Bone Marrow Stem Cells – Extracted from a patient’s own marrow, this minimally-invasive injection reduces inflammation and stimulates cartilage and bone regeneration.
  • Exosomes – Derived from donor stem cells, Exosomes act as cellular delivery vehicles, delivering regenerative signaling molecules to cellular targets with more precision and efficiency.

Tissue Engineering Therapies:

  • Placental Matrix – Placental Matrix injections replace the body’s damaged or missing connective tissue at the area of injury with donor-derived tissue.

Regenerative Treatments or Orthopedic Surgery?

  • Less Pain - 1 month after regenerative knee treatment, patients report a 45% decrease in pain, based on the Numeric Pain Scale (NPS).
  • Minimally-Invasive – Regenerative treatments utilize injections rather than an incision. Advanced ultrasound or x-ray imaging technology is used to ensure accurate placement.
  • Faster recovery – Generally, patients can return to normal activity within 2-3 weeks. It may take 8-12 weeks to resume normal activity after surgery.
  • No hospitalization – Close monitoring following a procedure is not necessary; patients are able to recuperate in the comfort of their own home
  • Lower risk – In a study of over 3000 regenerative procedures, 87.9% warranted no adverse effects.
