Q&A with Dr. Zhang
What made you want to become a doctor?
I’ve always had an interest in science and the medical field offers a unique opportunity to use scientific knowledge to directly impact people’s lives in an immediate way, which is really rewarding.
What do you love about practicing medicine?
I love being able to help people feel better and live healthier lives. The collaborative and evolving nature of the medical field also means you’re always learning new things and growing your skillset throughout your entire career. It never gets boring!
What is your favorite subspecialty topic?
I really enjoy performing minimally invasive surgical procedures such as Endoscopic discectomies/ rhizotomies, MILD procedures, Kyphoplasties, and interspinous spacers.
What do you wish you could tell every patient (and they would actually do) and why?
I want my patients to listen to their bodies and stay on top of their treatment, long term improvement isn’t always immediate and a little patience and establishing a routine really pays off in the end!
What is the most important factor in a doctor-patient relationship and why?
Communication between a doctor and a patient is very important, both parties need to understand what is going on in order to get the most out of any treatment.
What’s your favorite thing about Hudson Medical Group?
It’s great to work with such a talented medical team and staff who make it a pleasure to go to work every day.
