What Types of Injuries Are Common in Runners?

Running can be a lifelong sport, and it can do wonders for your body in terms of its benefits on your physical and psychological health. However, running can also take its toll, especially if you have been running with suboptimal form or efficiency.

Runners are particularly prone to the following common injuries and pain conditions:

  • Patellofemoral pain syndrome (also known as “Runner’s knee”)
  • Hip impingement
  • Iliotibial (IT) band friction syndrome
  • Lower back pain
  • Achilles tendinitis
  • Hamstring strains
  • Piriformis syndrome
  • Shin splints
  • Stress fractures
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Foot pain

At Hudson Wellness, our Running Gait Analysis Program remains attuned to the pain conditions common in runners, teaching you how to restructure your running style to help you avoid exacerbating any underlying running-related conditions or developing new ones.

What Is the Structure of the Running Gait Analysis Program?

To reap the maximum benefit of our gait program, we offer a 10-session bundle: 2 sessions per week for 5 weeks. By honing in on your running pattern with focused intensity, you can most effectively retrain your brain and build adequate muscle memory.

Each week we will be focusing on different elements of running mechanics, with various emphasis and attention paid to alignment, stability training, balance training, jumping mechanics, Pilates, and plyometrics. After the program, you will be fully ready to return to your running routine.

What Is the Cost of the Running Gait Analysis Program?

Depending on your situation, your insurance may cover our program. We also have many patients who are runners that have participated in our comprehensive CAMP program, and we may be able to leverage that cost structure.
